A friendly face can be as important as a hot meal. Our Senior Companion Program pairs homebound older adults with active seniors who live right in their own communities — because, as we like to say, Senior Companions do what friends do for friends.
What a companion does
Companions visit regularly and offer friendly conversation. They're glad to help with a quick trip to the doctor's office or grocery store, or an afternoon out at a local event. There's no fee to receive this service.
Companions help their clients stay independent and connected to the world around them. The program also gives family caregivers a break — time to work, run errands, or simply rest, knowing their loved one has company.
Who it's for
If you know a homebound older adult who could use a friend, we'd like to hear from you. And if you're an active senior who wants to be that friend, our companion volunteers are the heart of this program.
