Our Senior Companion Program pairs homebound older adults who need friendly support with active seniors who live right in their own communities. We're looking for Senior Companion volunteers to join the program and make a real difference for a neighbor — while enjoying the connection right back.
How You Can Help
Being a companion is mostly about showing up and being a friend. Volunteers spend time with the people they're matched with and lend a hand where it helps:
- Being a friend and offering regular company
- Providing respite so family caregivers can rest
- Helping with grocery shopping
- Playing games and sharing an afternoon
- Assisting with everyday tasks
What You Get Back
Companions tell us they get as much as they give — a sense of contributing to those in need, being part of a team, and regular socialization. The program also provides a tax-free stipend to help cover the cost of volunteering.
Who Can Volunteer
- Anyone aged 55 or older and retired
- Anyone who can meet Senior Companion Program guidelines
- Anyone willing to serve older adults in their homes on a regular basis
